1. Sit
on opposite sides of the board. When playing with four players remember
that each team consists of two people.
Arrange the carrom men on with the red queen at the
centre. The white carrom men should be lined up to form a "Y"
shape, with two sides aiming directly towards the corner pockets.
Use the striker for a coin toss, to determine who will
break first. The winner of the coin toss breaks.
Break and strike from your side of the board only.
Also, the striker must touch both lines base lines and can cover the end circle
completely, or not at all. The striker must not touch the diagonal arrow line
on the board.
Move the striker by using your fingers. The object is
to break up the carrom men like you break in a game of pool. See tips for
different ways to strike and rules around using the striker.
- The
queen can be pocketed at any time after sinking your first piece but must
be sunk before your last piece is pocketed. After pocketing the queen,
you need to sink one of your carrom men, into any pocket in the next
shot, or the queen will be returned to the centre of the carrom board.
Win the game by being the first to get all your carrom
men into pockets once someone covers the queen. Award a point to the winner
for every opponent's carrom men still on the carrom board.
- The
winner scores one point for each of the opponent's carrom men left on the
board and three points for the queen if covered by the winner (if covered
by the loser, no-one gets points for the queen)
